How to read this page
The predicted rate keeps moving until the settlement; settled rates have happened and will not change. To estimate the cost of holding a BTC contract, the 30-day average or total is closer to reality than the rate predicted right now.
'10,000 USDT long, 30 days' is what the same long, held from 30 days ago to now, paid or received at each settlement's actual rate; a short is the same amount in the other direction. Scale it by notional for other sizes: 0.2 BTC at 50,000 USDT is a 10,000 USDT position.
BTC perpetuals on the two exchanges
Funding rates cannot rise without limit: both exchanges cap each interval's rate, and the caps for BTC differ from other coins'. These are the parameters read from both exchanges' official public data on 2026-10-07; exchanges can change them, so check the contract page before trading.
| Item | Binance BTCUSDT | OKX BTC-USDT-SWAP |
|---|---|---|
| Funding rate limit per interval | ±0.300% | ±0.375% |
| Settlement interval | 8 hours | 8 hours |
| Most paid per interval (per 10,000 USDT) | 30 USDT | 37.50 USDT |
| Minimum order | 0.001 BTC, at least 50 USDT notional | 0.01 contracts (0.01 BTC each) |
| Price tick | 0.10 USDT | 0.1 USDT |
What a week of funding costs
Funding = position value × rate per interval; BTC contracts on both exchanges currently settle every 8 hours, 21 times a week. At +0.01% per interval a 10,000 USDT long pays 21 USDT a week; at the rate limits, Binance charges at most 30 USDT per interval and OKX at most 37.50 USDT.
Comparing the two exchanges
Only when both exchanges' data are current and updated within two hours of each other does the note under the table say whose rate is higher and how much more the same long pays per interval; the 30-day totals are compared only when both records are complete. A lower rate does not make an exchange the right one for you: fee tier, availability where you live and liquidity matter as well.
